Why Plan Greenville Now?
Greenville, Mississippi is experiencing accelerated community change and new community development challenges related to infrastructure maintenance, downtown development and a desire to revitalize the community. Greenville has established a successful Main Street program, engaged in historic preservation efforts, and is realizing the potential to increase its quality of life as the heart and soul of the Mississippi Delta.
The City has recognized the importance of a sound plan to guide its development and infrastructure initiatives. Greenville’s last plan was developed in 1993. That plan no longer represents current development conditions nor reflects valid long term Greenville goals and objectives. Fresh implementation policies and projects are needed to renew and strengthen Greenville as the Queen City of the Delta. Everyone is invited to participate in the plan. You can start by helping to name your plan.
